Romance and Creative Types
Okay, what is the REAL reason that romances never last in Hollywood? (Besides the obvious jealousy factor when actors and actresses get paid to kiss or undress before others.)
I’ve come up with a theory. I think it’s just too natural and too human to confuse the fantasy with the reality. Like the rest of the world, I fell in love with Edward Cullen in Twilight – in the book and in the movie. Now, if I were to meet that actor (I don’t know his name) that played Edward in person, I would probably discover that he isn’t really anything like the role he played. There would be some really obvious reasons like the fact that he’s human, lack of teeth and his inability to know how wonderful my blood smells. But, the truth is that he probably isn’t half as romantic as Edward’s character either – no offense meant to that actor. (There again, he’s HUMAN.) Edward is the fantasy. What’s-his-name is the reality.
Fantasy is funner. Reality is more meaningful. I suggest we create a harmonious mixture that we can all live with. Live the fantasy while reading the book, while watching the movie. When it’s done, back to reality. The man snoring on the couch really is your knight in shining armor, in the real world anyway, because in real life, HE is the one that loves you heart and soul.
