Do you need to make a New Year’s Resolution?

In my opinion, the answer to that question is most definitely yes. Here’s why. The worst thing any of us can do is get into a rut where we are living life in a daze with no excitement, no ambitions, no passion.

Don’t worry about making some stupid goal to exercise five days a week or to never touch any form of chocolate this year. Who can actually do that? Don’t even worry about making a goal to lose weight, unless that’s what you need for your own health. An extra fifteen pounds isn’t enough to worry about. Instead, make a resolution this year that will really give your life some meaning.

Make a goal to spend thirty minutes a day doing something you love. Doesn’t that sound selfish? I’m having some bizarre and crazy ideas this year, aren’t I? But, what if that thirty minutes of time alone will energize you and make you better for the rest of the day, give you the extra life you need to keep that smile while at work, while with your family?

Just don’t let yourself become a robot where you get up, go to work, get home, cook dinner, get the kid to sleep, watch mindless TV, go to bed and begin the same cycle all over again. Enough. Stop it now. Break the cycle. Find some energy and passion. Plug back into life and enjoy it! Whistle while you work, dance in the kitchen while you cook and play a game with the kid before bedtime.

Find a goal, find a dream and go for it! Make 2011 come back to life!

  1. I made myself an Intention List. Ha! I’ve already forgotten what’s on it! But I have a shortcut to it on my desktop, so I can sneak a peek and remember. Blessings to you, Destiny…

    • Way to go, Carol. You can get it done. I believe that. 🙂
